William A. Meek Jr.

William Alex Meek Jr, 74 of LaVergne, TN, left this world and entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 with his beloved family by his side. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY. Visitation will start at 2 p.m. William was born June 19, 1939 in Montgomery County, TN son of the late, William and Iner Bright Meek. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Ryman and Joe “Mickey” Mitchell; sisters, Ruby Kanagy and Francis Zoeller. He attended Concord Community Church in Brentwood, TN and served in the Air Force when he was younger. He is survived by his wife Mary Smith Meek of LaVergne, TN, three daughters Donna Effinger and Rick of Evansville, IN, Teresa Meek of Hendersonville, NC, Marianne Totin of Charlotte, NC, one son William Meek III and Lisa of Murfreesboro, TN, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one brother, Patrick Meek of Clarksville, TN.
