Walter B. Chmura Sr.

Walter B. Chmura, 89, died Sunday Jan. 22, 2023 at his home in Marion, Ky of natural causes in his sleep.
Walter was born May 5, 1933 in Hamtramck, MI, to Walter and Victoria Chmura.
Walter enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1952 where he served for 8 years reaching the rank of Corporal and was attached to the 701st AAA Battalion during the Korean War.
Walter loved watching westerns, fishing, taking care of his lawn, drinking coffee, and watching deer and other wildlife through the living room window from his chair.
Walter is survived by his wife, Joan Chmura; children, Walter W. Chmura, Lorraine Fochtman, Joseph Chmura, & grandchildren, Victoria Belt, Justin Michonski, Sarah Chmura, Amanda Harris, Lindsey Engel, Joe Chmura and many great grandchildren.
A small family visitation was held Monday 1:30p. Friends and family can visit on Friday Jan. 27, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY.
