Vickey D. Flynn

Vickey Diane Flynn, 74 years of age, left this life, Thursday April 4th, 2024.  Vickey was born April 2, 1950 in Rosiclare, Illinois to Joyce Dean (Wheatcroft) Owens and Glen Edward Veach.  Vickey married Ronald Eugene Flynn November 8, 1968.

Vickey, herself, was a caregiver for most of her life, using her time to care for children, adults and the elderly.  Vickey loved the outdoors with fishing and camping being some of her favorite activities.  You were likely to see her out in the yard gardening or in the kitchen trying out a new recipe.

Vickey was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Ronnie Flynn, two sisters Robert and Eilene (Veach) Ginger and Debbie (Veach) Dullinger, one brother Larry Veach.  Also surviving are her nieces Billie Dawn Fearday from Montrose Illinois and Carey (Ginger) Collins of Tampa, Florida and her nephew Jeff Rorer of Harrisburg, Illinois.

There will be no funeral of graveside service.  A private ceremony will take place for family and friends at a later date.

Her Journey’s Just Begun

Don’t think of her as gone away-

Her journey has just begun

Life holds many facets

The Earth is only one

Just think of her as resting

From the sorrows and the tears

In a place of warmth and comfort

Where there are no days and years

Think how she must be wishing

That we could know today

How nothing but our sadness 

Can really pass away

And think of her as living In the hearts of 

Those she touched

For nothing loved is ever lost-

And she was loved so much.
