Vena Denton

Vena Denton, 101, passed away on October 28, 2012 at the Rosiclare Health Care Center in Rosiclare, Illinois. She was born in Hardin County on September 27, 1911. Her parents were Herman Richeson and Lottie Stokes Richeson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elizabethtown and Eastern Star.
Surviving are her grandson, Steve Rutherford and wife Kim of Elizabethtown; great grandsons, Garrison Gross and wife Rani of Marion, IL, Gannon Gross of Cave-In-Rock, IL and Roman Rutherford of Elizabethtown, IL; great great granddaughter, Victoria Gross of Cave-In-Rock, IL; grandson-in-law, Gary Gross of Elizabethtown, IL; brothers-in-law, Harry Lee Denton and wife , Opal and James Gordon Denton and wife, Mary Ellen all of Cave-In-Rock, IL.
Vena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Denton; her only child, Betty Williams Rutherford; granddaughter, Sherry Dawn Rutherford Gross, and a half-sister Frances Richeson McCabe.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 1 at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave-In-Rock, IL beginning at 12 noon, followed by the service at 1 PM with Bro. Ed Lafferty officiating and burial at Cave Hill Cemetery.
