Thelma Jean "Tootie" Rushing

Thelma Jean "Tootie" Rushing, 78, went home to be with the Lord at her daughter's home in Frankfort, KY. on January 11, 2019. She was a founding and charter member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rushing was active in her church, Piney Fork CP Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Mrs. Rushing was retired from Tyco Electronics with 30 years of service.

Survivors include her son, Greg (Phyllis) Rushing of Marion, KY.; daughter, Vicki (Joe) Sanderson of Frankfort, KY.; grandchildren, Corey Rushing of Marion, KY., Courtney (Larry) Morse of Princeton, KY., Shellye (Kenny) Conger of Marion, KY. and Josh (Amber) Jackson of Irvington, KY.; 6 great grandchildren and siblings, Jimmy "Bub" Porter and Kenny Kirk of Marion, KY., Tommy Kirk of Cave-In-Rock, IL., Phyllis Joiner of Golconda, IL. and Brice Kirk of Palm Springs, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Billy Jo Rushing and parents, Eugene Porter, Velda Kirk, Jody Hobbs and Emma Hobbs.

Services are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday January 16, 2019 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY. with interment in Crayne Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 Tuesday January 15, 2109 at the funeral home.
