Mr. Silas Omar Anderson

Silas Omar Anderson, 79, of rural Elizabethtown, IL. passed away on Sunday September 28, 2014 at Hardin County General Hospital. He was born in Gallatin County on April 28, 1935 to Robert Charles Anderson and Anna ( Stanley ) Anderson. He was a former member of the Smiley Club and very active in the Hardin County Golden Circle.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Anderson of Elizabethtown, IL.; Daughter: Christy and Kip Davis of Golconda, IL.; Daughter: Samantha and John Strawser of Rosiclare, IL.; Daughter: Sarah and Kevin Conkle of Elizabethtown, IL.; Son Josh and Jeri Slavin of Ambian, IN.; Son: Ben and Casey Slavin of Marion, IL.; Daughter: Wendy and Jimmy Cowsert of Elizabethtown, IL.; Son: J.R. and Ann Goolsby of Cave In Rock, IL.; 28 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son: Silas Anderson Jr., 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of services. As per his wishes, Mr. Anderson has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Elizabethtown, IL. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the church. Rev. Ed Lafferty will officiate the services.
