Shelby Jean Croft

Shelby Jean Croft’s earthly journey ended on August 18, 2023 in her room at Vantage Point Village in Ashland City, TN. She was surrounded by Rodney, Matthew and Sydney. Upon her passing the Vantage Point Staff came in to say goodbye.

Shelby was a longtime Marion resident. While in Marion, she enjoyed golf and gardening. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her lifelong friends and fellow church members at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

After her husband, Truman’s passing in 2013, she moved to Nashville with Rodney and Matthew. In 2015 the trio purchased a 5 acre property in Northern Dickson County, TN. Shelby enjoyed county life with her sidekicks, Rafa the Corgi and Maggie the Australian Shepherd.

I offer my sincere gratitude to the amazing staff at Vantage Point Village. Mom’s last year was filled with love and genuine caring. We would also like to give praise to Accent Hospice for assisting us during this challenging process.

Shelby’s Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY on August 27, 2023, with visitation from 1-2. The ceremony will follow visitation. In honor of Shelby, please wear bright colors. She did not want her life to be remembered in black and white. She loved color.
