Ruth Evelene Stone, 84, of Rosiclare, Il. departed this life on June 17, 2017. She was a resident of the Rosiclare Rehab and Healthcare Center. Evelene was born July 20, 1932 in Rosiclare to Anne Margaret (Hurford) and Gordon Riley Morgan.
Evelene’s first job was in the office at Ozark-Mahoning in Rosiclare right after graduating high school. She married James Dale Stone on June 6, 1951. She later worked at the Rosiclare Hospital for Dr. Duffy and Dr. Goldstein and after that for a dentist in Elizabethtown. Juanita Thompson, Circuit Clerk of Hardin County, hired Evelene as her clerk. When Juanita retired, Evelene became circuit clerk.
Evelene is survived by 2 Daughters: Linda Tarlton of Harrisburg, and Donna Rheaume of Marion; Sister: Ruby Boggs of Metropolis; Grandchildren: Chris Tarlton, April (Jason) Douglas, Jennifer (Jared) Mattoon, and Brian(Christina) Rheaume: Great-Grandchildren: Garret and Hannah Rheaume, Kaylee and Lily Mattoon, Spencer Matthews and Ailee Perez; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and son: Larry; Daughter: Sandra; and her son-in-law: David Rheaume.
Hardin County Funeral Service, Cox Funeral Home are overseeing arrangements. Service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm at funeral home. Family will receive visitors from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will be at Fluorine Cemetery in Rosiclare, Il. Rev. Harold Miller will officiate.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sunga and the staff at Hardin County General Hospital and the staff at Rosiclare Rehab and Healthcare Center who took such great care of Evelene.
