Robert Glenn Stone was born the youngest of five children born to Lawton and Lela (Hoover) Stone in Rosiclare, Illinois, on January 12, 1932. He departed this life at 8:10 a.m. on November 20, 2010, being, at the time of his passing, 78 years, 10 months, and 8 days of age in the community of his birth surrounded by family and friends.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his beloved wife Bessie Iola (Edwards) Stone of Golconda, Illinois; a son, Robert Lawton (Diane) Stone of Ledbetter, Kentucky; two step-daughters, Angela Kay (Goolsby) Owens of Elizabethtown, Illinois; and Rita Lynn (Goolsby) Jenson of Tucson, Arizona; and a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Stone of Paducah, Kentucky. Of this extended family, Robert doted on nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He also leaves his beloved "big sister" Cora Lucille (Stone) Parkinson of Golconda, Illinois, and sister-in-law Evelene (Morgan) Stone of Rosiclare, Illinois with nieces and nephews and with their children and grandchildren for a big, noisy loving family.
Preceding Robert, in his passing, were his parents, Lawton and Lela Stone; two sisters, Mary Evelyn and Melva Christine Stone; a brother, James Dale Stone; a son, Richard Paul Stone; two nephews, Kenneth Wayne Parkinson and Larry Stone, and a niece Sandra Lee Stone.
