Robert E. Dixon

Robert E. Dixon born in Hardin County on June 26th, 1939 to Carl & Thelma (Tucker) Dixon. He passed from this life on…Graduated from Cave-in-Rock high school in Cave-in-Rock, Il. He moved to Northern Illinois and worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Aurora, Il. for 40 years, 28 days.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Dixon; Three children, Rebecca (Kelly) Calvert of Sandwich, Il., Robert (Maureen) Dixon of Burbank, CA., Karla (Rick) Wheeler of Wahpeton, ND., two grandchildren, Nathan Wheeler & Joshua Wheeler, both of Wahpeton, ND.Three Brothers, Clarence (Brenda) Dixon of Cave-in-Rock, Galen (Kathy Jo) Dixon of Metropolis, IL., Jimmy Dixon of Rosiclare, IL., Three step-children, Benny (Helen) Orman, David (Tina) Orman, both of Cave-in-Rock, IL., Kim Orman of Metropolis, IL., Four step-grandchildren, Jeff (Tiffany), Jason (Tasha), Michael & Joseph Orman, all of Cave-in-Rock; and three step-great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews of which he loves them all.

Robert & Wanda Dixon married on December 26th, 1990 in Aurora, IL.

He gave his life to Christ in May of 2008. He has met many wonderful ministers and Church people, but most of all the one Who gives life Eternal, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

One sister, Janice Dixon & both Parents, Carl & Thelma Dixon have both preceded in death.

Services are scheduled for 1 PM Monday at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave-In-Rock, IL with interment in Cave Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM until service time Monday at the funeral home.
