Richard Brian Hinkle

Richard was born May 8, 1956 to Robert “Bob” and Joanna “Jo” Hinkle.
He passed away Saturday June 3, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Slim and Gwen Helm and Walter and Phyllis Hinkle.
He leaves behind a daughter, April (Tony) McBride and grandson Dakota.
Brother Neal (Barb) Hinkle of Colo. Springs Co, sister Donna (Larry) Roberson of Elizabethtown, Il. and sister Sandy Robertson of Cave in Rock, Il. Aunt Joyce (Dan) Runyon of Lincoln Va. several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He came to Southern Illinois from Chicago in 2012 to be closer to his family.
As his health declined he moved to Rosiclare Rehab in 2015.
He attended church at Peters Creek which he enjoyed so much.
He enjoyed life, loved meeting people and visiting with them. He spent 35 years as a cab driver in Chicago and had some of the most interesting stories to tell..
He had a big heart. If he met you once he considered you his friend and would always remember you.
Richard will be cremated and his ashes will be buried with his beloved grandparents “Granny” and “Pa” Slim at Empire Cemetery in Elizabethtown. A graveside service is planned for Wednesday June 7, 2017.
Hardin County Funeral Service assisted with final arrangements.
