Otto Cochran, 85, passed away at Maryview Hospital on Sunday April 17, 2011. He was born in Shelterville, IL to the late Effie Bliss and Otto Cochran, Sr. He graduated from RCHS in 1943 and while in the U.S Army attended Cornell University for two years. On January 1, 1947 he married Corina Patterson. He retired from Alcoa with 38 years of service. Otto was an avid golfer and enjoyed participating in tournaments. He served as a member on the Rosiclare School Board. Because of his wife's love of books and reading, he donated her books and made a large donation to the Rosiclare Library in her memory. Otto was preceded in death by his wife, Corina Patterson Cochran; parents; stepfather, Ezra Estes; two brothers, Clyde and James Cochran. Survivors include nieces, Patsy Kerr (Donald) Seay of Portsmouth, VA and Nancee (David) Glasgow of Columbia, TN.
Services are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday April 23, 2011 at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare, IL with interment in Fluorine Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Military rites will be given at the cemetery on Saturday.
