Mary Catherine "Mary Kay" Baldwin, 74, of Rosiclare, IL. was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on October 29, 2018.
She was 74 years old and passed away peacefully at Hardin County General Hospital.
Mary Kay was born on August 30, 1944 in Rosiclare, IL. to Weldon and Catherine (Lamar) Dodson. She grew up with oneolder sister, Patricia Ann and two younger sisters, Dorothy Jean and Nancy Sue.
On July 25, 1961 she married her best friend, William Ronald "Ronnie" Baldwin. Through this loving union, 2 children were born, Rhonda Kay and Kevin Ronald. Ronnie and Mary Kay were married for 45 years before he was called to the Lord. They were both members of First Baptist Church of Rosiclare.
Even though she never attended college, she was a very business savvy person. She took care of the daily operations of her and Ronnie's businesses, including "Ronnie's" gas station, Baldwin's Used Cars, Baldwin's Towing, and Baldwin's Body Shop. Because of her daily involvement in these businesses, everyone in the community knew and loved Mary Kay.
She loved collectibles and could often be found searching all the local shops for the latest and hard-to-find dolls, ornaments, glassware, and more. She also loved to read and had a great love for Shetland Sheepdogs, especially her beloved Lad who was her faithful companion for many years.
Mary Kay is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda Kay and Bobby Shore; son: Kevin Ronald Baldwin; mother-in-law: Lorene Welchel; sister: Patty( Larry) Robertson; sister-in-law: Cleoma (Wendell) Robinson; 5 grandchildren: Krissy Ann (Jon) Biggs, Corey Ronald Baldwin, Cody Wayne Baldwin, Colby Benjamin Shore, Whitney Catherine Shore; and 4 great grandchildren: Carter Corey Baldwin, Drew Baldwin Biggs, William Michael Biggs, and Chloe Renee Baldwin. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and her church family.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Ronnie, and two sisters, Nancy Dodson and Dotty Jean Dodson.
Service will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Hardin County Funeral Service- Cox chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till time of service at funeral home. Burial will follow at Twitchell Cemetery.
