Lois Opal Easley, 99, of Marion, Ky died January 25, 2020 at Crittenden County Health and Rehab. Survivors include her children: Brendyth O. Boone ( Eddie ) of Princeton, Ky, Lucky D. Easley ( Brenda) of Marion, Ky, Joseph L. Easley ( Linda )of Marion, Ky and Latricha Rhee Hollowell ( Larry) of Tyler , Tx; 16 grandchilden, multiple great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 yrs , James A. Easley; parents Herman and Edna Ramage of Salem, ky; son, Larenza A. “Sonny”Easley (Peggy); grandson, Joey J. Easley; 1 brother, Benjamin Ramage, 1 sister , Reba Roberts. She was one of original founding members of Marion Church of God where she worked in whatever capacity that was needed: teacher , bus driver , cook, host to many evangelists/preachers and their families. Her and her best friend ( Birdie Thomas ) were active in their community assisting whenever needed to help families during troubled times. They worked their Big gardens and shared the harvest to provide for their families and those in need. When all of her children left home, she was a professional cook locally and on river boats for many years. She loved reading and helping others learn how to read. She accomplished a lifelong goal ( high school diploma) at 73 yrs of age . She wanted to be an example and inspiration for her family and others.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion , Ky with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Mapleview Cemetery in Marion , Ky , C/o Gilbert Funeral Home, 117 W Belleville St., Marion , Ky 42064.
