Linda Rae Davis was born March 22, 1942, to Ray and Corena Gowins. She attended Stone Church Grade School, at Midway, graduating in 1955. She graduated at Rosiclare Community High School in 1959. Her favorite song in 1958 was, Wonderful Time Up There.
After high school she worked for Gladys Galloway in the Abstract Office, before continuing her education that would become a long-time cosmetology business. She became a beautician in 1963, having her own shop in E’town for twenty-five years.
On November 27, 1971 she married Harold Davis and moved to Rosiclare where she continued doing hair at her in-home shop. There she continued her practice for twenty more years. When patrons were unable to come to the shop she would go to their home and do their hair. She was on the job when she went in the hospital. Also, Harold and Linda owned and operated Davis and Barnard Trucking Co. from 1972-1996.
Linda was a faithful member of the First Apostolic Church in Rosiclare. She leaves her husband Harold, of forty-eight years, children: Gayle Belford of Rosiclare, Tammy and Coy Tabor of Washington, IN, and Everett and LeAnn Davis of E’town. Also, her sisters: Yvonne and Tom Spiller, Margie Lance, Karen and Deneen Vinyard: and brother: Reverend Butch and Chris Gowins, all of Rosiclare. Her grandchildren: Jana, Brad, Adam, Caleb, Brock, and Ranzy; great-grandchildren Bella, Quinlee, Theo, Noah, and Brayden. She also leaves many nephews and nieces, other family members, and friends who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Ray and Corena Gowins; sister: Freda Gowins; son-in-law: Randy Belford; and brother-in-law: Reverend Larry Lance.

Service will be held Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Apostolic Church in Rosiclare. Visitors may call on the family from 11:00 am till time of service at the church. Rev. Butch Gowins will officiate service. With burial to follow at Fluorine Cemetery in Rosiclare.
