Lila D. Williams passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. She was a member of the Union Millwright Local 1080 and enjoyed doing projects around her home and spending time with her beloved family, dogs and cats.
Lila is preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Louis, step-mother, Ada Mae Williams, and sister, Linda L. Nelson. She is survived by her beloved family including her father, Lloyd C. Williams (Salem, KY), her brothers, Ricky (Candy) Williams of TN, Wesley (Diane) Williams of GA, and Allen Williams of FL, her sisters, Peggy Ralph of KY and Margaret Tinsley of Salem, KY, and her children, Shawna S. (Tim) Day of Indianapolis, IN, Tiffany F. (Jose) Pena of Merrillville, IN, Lawrence E. Davis III of Missouri, Katherine I. Davis of Rockville, Indiana, and Gregory A. (Melissa) Davis of Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Lila leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, February 24, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow directly thereafter. All services will be at Gilbert Funeral Home located at Marion, KY. Pastor Gary Underwood of First General Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will be at Repton Cemetery in Marion, KY.
