Mr. Leonard A. Humm

Leonard A. Humm, 95, of Rosiclare, IL. passed away and 2:20 P.M. Monday May 12, 2014 at Hardin County General Hospital. He was born on the family farm near Eichorn, IL. on December 4, 1918. He was one of ten children born to George and Maggie Eichorn Humm. In 1945, Leonard married Faye Foley who preceded him in death in 2003 at the age of 80. They were married for over 57 years.
Leonard is survived by two sons, Stephen and Karen Humm of Golconda, IL., and Gregory and Cindy Humm of Benton, IL. Also surviving are 5 Grandchildren; Paul and Sarah Humm of Paducah, Ky.; David and Alisha Humm of Alton, IL.; Christine and Kevin Stalions of Golconda, IL; Maggie and Jami Tearow of Honolulu, Hawaii; Mollie and Lucas Bremer of West Frankfort, IL.; 8 Great-Grand Children, Thomas, Joseph, Mark, and Patrick of Paducah, KY., Gavin and Aaron Preston of Alton, IL, and Noah and Jude of Golconda, IL.; Two Brothers: Martin and Carl, and one sister: Martha Hamp.
Leonard was preceded in death his Parents, and by 5 Brothers: Paul, Louis, Vincent, Boniface, and Christopher and one sister, Theresa.
Leonard lived a life of honesty and hard work. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger days and in his late 50’s he took up golf and grew to love it as well. He was a lifetime St. Louis Cardinal fan and he followed them until shortly before his death.
He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church from birth to death. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of services. Visitation will be Wednesday May 14, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will be Thursday May 15, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Father. Abraham Adejoh will officiate the services.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery Fund, Hardin Co. General Hospital Auxiliary, St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
