Leon Hodge
MARION, Ky. — Leon Hodge, 72, of Marion, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Crittenden County Hospital in Marion, Kentucky.
With more than 31 years at US Steel, Gary Works, Leon retired in 1986 as a Supervisor/Turn Foreman. He served in the U.S. Army and Reserves and received an Honorable Discharge in May of 1965.
Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Pearline Hodge; parents, Hughey and Cleo Belt Hodge; sister, Ivan Jean Hall and a step son, Samuel Story.
He is survived by his daughters, Tanya (Dewey) Ramage of Marion, KY., Cindy Hodge-Stoye of Bellvue, Michigan and Sandra Hodge of Portage, Indiana. From his marriage with Pearline, surviving are Rodney (Margaret) Duff, Patricia Capito and David Story. Also surviving are two sisters, Neta Pine and Naoma (Doyle) Jennings. He had 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hodge was a wonderful father, grandfather and brother and will be missed deeply.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, Ky. with interment in Mapleview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Military rites will be given at the cemetery on Saturday.
