Kathryn Majors Pritchett formerly of Corydon died peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Marion, Kentucky.
Born July 26, 1923 she was the daughter of Leo and Addie Majors of Sebree, Kentucky. During World War II, she worked in the local rations office to support the war effort.
On January 14, 1944 she married Walter Pritchett of Corydon. For 49-years, they enjoyed golf, gardening, WKU athletics, children and grandchildren.
She contributed her many talents to a host of organizations. Serving in various leadership and volunteer roles in the community, she was always quick to help.
A member of Dixie United Methodist Church for 58-years, she was a faithful servant to her Lord and her church. Through service in church clubs, WMU or just regular attendance, Kathryn was a devout Methodist all her days.
Mrs. Pritchett is preceded in death by her parents Addie and Leo Majors, her adored husband, Walter Pritchett, her sister, Blanche Sellars, two brothers, Charles Majors (Bette) and Robert Majors, her son-in-law, Ed Walker and her beloved daughter, Nancy Ann Pritchett Walker.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her loving daughter Sue Pritchett Thomas of Louisville. She leaves 3 beloved granddaughters, Rebecca Hyatt (Robert) of Waynesville, MO, Angela Owen (Darren) of Marion, and M. Kathryn Sanderson (Jon David) of Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Pritchett leaves behind two loved grandsons, Carson Walker of Marion and Wade Pritchett Thomas of Washington, DC.
Blessed enough to know and love 5 great-grandchildren, Logan and Emily Owen, Ian, and Carson Hyatt and B. Kathryn Sanderson.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY. Visitation from 3-6 with a service beginning at 6:15.
