Joseph Kenton King, 96, lovingly known as "Joe," passed away peacefully at his home in Old Hickory, Tennessee, on January 8, 2025. Joe was born on May 31st, 1928 in Crittenden County, KY. He was a veteran of the United States Army and dedicated over four decades of his life to Whirlpool in Evansville, IN retiring after 42 years of service. Joe brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was a deeply lovable man whose presence will be greatly missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad Kenton and Louisia King; his brother, Rudell King; sisters, Thelma Johnson and Louise Thomas and his infant son, Joseph Dale.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Clement Butler King; daughters, Rita Jo Martin, Susan Beasley (Tony), Gina King and Brenda King; grandchildren, Marcus Kenton Martin, Mattie Jo Bartlett (Michael) and Mackenzie Ingram (Nathan); and great-grandchildren, Bentlee Martin, Mason Kenton Martin, Sadie Jo Bartlett, Jackson Kenton Ingram, Copeland Bartlett and Noah Ingram. Joe also leaves behind several cherished nieces and nephews.
Joe loved giving nicknames and making people laugh, he always had a fun phrase to say. He loved being a Papaw and he was the best one around. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday January 17, 2025 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY with interment in Mapleview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from Noon until service time at the funeral home.
