James Martin Hobbs, 75, of Elizabethtown, IL died Sunday at his home. He was a member of Rosiclare General Baptist Church, Veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Ozark Mahoning in Rosiclare, IL.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Christine Volkert Hobbs; daughters, Martha (Brian) Cowgill of Elizabethtown, IL and Janet Brantley of Rosiclare, IL; son, Greg (Julie) Hobbs of Rosiclare, IL; brother, Don (JoAnn) Hobbs of Kernersville, N.C.; 7 grandchildren, Ryan Cowgill, Corey Hobbs, Colten Hobbs Cowsert, Landon Jackson, Braxton Brantley, Michael Hobbs and Chase Dutton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Irene Hobbs.
Services are scheduled for 1 PM Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare, IL with interment in Empire Cemetery in Elizabethtown, IL. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Military Rites will be given at the cemetery on Wednesday.
