James F. "Jim" Helmers

James F. "Jim" Helmers, 79, of Rosiclare, IL died Monday in Carrier Mills. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Korean War Veteran of the United States Air Force, Office Manager and employee of Shawnee Telephone for 50 years, member of Carrier Mills American Legion Post 364 and Taylorville, Illinois VFW and Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his sons, David Helmers of Rosiclare, IL and Larry Vandervort of Madison, GA; daughters, Linda Casey of Bent Tree, GA and Doris Angel of Andover, IL; sisters, Rose Marchand of Carrville, Louisiana and Charlotte Long of Decatur, IL; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Helmers; parents, George and Susie Helmers; 1 brother and 1 sister.
Services are scheduled for 11 AM Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 PM Thursday at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare, IL.
Military rites will be given at the cemetery on Friday.
