James Edward Champion, Sr., 86, of Marion, Kentucky, died Monday at his home in Marion.
He was a retired farmer and member of Marion Church of God.
Mr. Champion is survived by his wife of 66 years, Katherine Fowler Champion, sons, James (Susan) Champion, Jr. of Salem, KY and Kenneth Ray (Pam) Champion of Marion, KY.; grandsons, Steven (Eugena) Champion and Scott (Misty) Champion both of Salem, KY and Jason (Jessi) Champion, Jared (Terri) Champion and Josh (Julie) Champion all of Marion, KY.; great grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Lane and Trent Champion all of Salem, KY and Bristen, Kalli, Jaycee, Travis and Jaylee Champion all of Marion, KY; brother, Donald Champion of Paducah, KY and Dorothea McKinney of Marion, KY.
He was preceded in death by a brother Douglas Champion; sister Martha Wring and parents, E. and Lucy Carter Champion.
Services are scheduled for 1 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY. with interment to follow in Mapleview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
