Mr. Jack Lee Quertermous

September 10, 1935 — December 17, 2012

Jack Lee Quertermous, 77, passed away on December 17, 2012 at 4:40 P.M. at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was the son of the late Calvin and Sylvia (Robinson) Quertermous. He was born on September 10, 1935 in Pope County, IL. He was united in marriage on September 26, 1958 to Mary Gertrud Ledbetter. They had no children, but a host of nieces and nephews, whom they loved.
Jack was the oldest of 8 children. He leaves to mourn his wife. Four brothers: Dale of Tennessee; Gary, Mike, and Steve of Harrisburg, IL. Two sisters: Helen Owen and Louise Quertermous of Harrisburg, IL. And a host of friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister: Shirley Sheldon.

Jack ran a sawmill for many years until his health failed him. He was saved at a young age at Dixon Springs. In December of 1994 he rededicated his life to the lord. He attended Comb Church as a faithful member until June of 2006. He and his wife then went to Good Hope Church, and he was presently a member of Pleasant Hill Church.

Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of services. Visitation will be Wednesday December 19, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Services will be Thursday December 20, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Rev. Stan Pennell and Rev. Peggy Winters will officiate. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery.
