Grace Coleman Barr, 90, of Pine Bluff, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Barr was born April 10, 1928, in Marion, Kentucky, to the late Roy and Robbie Wiggington Coleman. She was reared and received her education in Marion, Kentucky.
She married Donald Ray Barr on September 1, 1948 in Marion, Kentucky. They moved to Pine Bluff in 1954.
Mrs. Barr worked for the Pine Bluff School District for 17 years as a Cafeteria Manager. She also worked for Jenkins Memorial Center for 5 years and retired in 1990.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, where she worked in the nursery for 42 years. She also had done volunteer work for Trinity Village Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Barr to whom she would have celebrated 70 years of marriage in just six days; two sons, Phillip and Tony Barr, both of White Hall; four grandchildren, Allison, Matthew, Justin, and Zach; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Coleman of Marion, Kentucky; and two sisters, Charlotte Booker of Hobart, Indiana, and Evelyn Beavers of Marion, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Martha Harper, Mary Wheeler, Dot Enoch, and Jo Ann Howard.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 28, 2018, 6:00-8:00 PM, at Robinson’s.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 30, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, Kentucky with Reverend Adam Jacobsen officiating. Interment will follow in Mapleview Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM before the service.
Memorials may be made to the nursery at First Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
