Mrs. Gladys Mae Spivey

Mrs. Gladys Mae Spivey, 90, of Elizabethtown, IL. passed away on February 17, 2016 at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare. She was born on June 9, 1925 in the Rock Creek community of Hardin County to Richard Alonzo Lowry and Bertie Showalters Lowry. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a retired cook of 42 years from the Hardin County School system.
She is survived by a Daughter: Carolyn and Doug Winters of Marion, IL.; Daughter: Linda and Steve Andrew of Marion, IL.; Son: Keith and Nancy Spivey of Elizabethtown, IL.; Granddaughter: Melissa and David Anderegg; Granddaughter: Tiffany and Matt Homoya; Grandson: Tim and Diane Winters; Granddaughter: Tara and Jeff Cavender; Grandson: Adam Spivey; Grandson: Brad Andrew; 12 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Husband: Millard Spivey; Parents: Richard and Bertie Lowry; Grandson: Scott Andrew; Brothers: James, Roy, and Franklin D. Lowry; Sisters: Dorothy Dutton, Mary Rose Vinyard, Louise English, and Mable Lindsey, and two siblings in infancy: Goldie and Charles.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 20, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will be held on Friday February 19, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Rev. Clifford Rose and Rev. Stan Pennell will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Empire Cemetery.
