Mr. Epifanio "Papi" Cartayas

Epifanio “Papi” Cartayas, 96, of Cave In Rock, IL. passed away on Sunday February 28, 2016 at Rosiclare Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Athens, Greece on April 7, 1919 to Pusco and Saloma Cartayas.
He is survived by his Wife: Patricia Cartayas of Cave In Rock, IL.; Daughter: Patricia Cartayas of Florida; Daughter: Maria Cartayas of New York; Son: Henry Cartayas of Connecticut; Son: William Cartayas of Georgia; Daughter: Carrie and Paul Gorst of Florida; Daughter: Annette and Israel Vega of Illinois; Daughter: Sandra Odle of Indiana; Son: Ricky and Nancy Pineiro of Florida; Sister in Laws: Jackie Dutton, Linda Matuck both of Illinois, Ann and David Brandt of Kentucky; 12 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in Death by his Parents: Pusco and Saloma Cartayas; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Rose Gilbert Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. As per his wishes, Mr. Cartayas will be cremated and a quiet family get together will be held at a later time.
