HUNT
Elder William E. Hunt, 96, of Crittenden County passed on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 1:30 p.m. February 13, 2009 at his daughter’s home in Crittenden County outside Marion, Kentucky.
He was born November 14, 1912 in Marion, Kentucky the son of the late Harvey and Carrie Hunt of Marion, KY. He was a long time member of Pleasant Hill Regular Baptist Church outside Marion, KY where he served faithfully as pastor for 45 years. He was a 53 year member of the Bigham Lodge # 256 F. & A. M. Marion, Kentucky, where he served as Chaplin for many years and was a member of the York Rite Bodies, Princeton, Kentucky. He was the past co-owner of Hunt Brothers Feed Store for 30 years and past member and chairman of both the Crittenden County Hospital Board and its Building Commission. He had been a long time member of the Crittenden County Ministerial Association.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda L. Easley, and son-in-law, Joseph L. Easley, of Marion, Kentucky; his son, John W. Hunt, of Evansville, IN; his grandsons Jae Easley of Lexington, SC, Lee Easley of Knoxville, TN, and Chris Hunt of Lexington, KY; his granddaughter Paige Timmons of Sumter, SC; his great granddaughter, Anna Easley, of Pinewood, SC; and his sisters Lena Belt and Libby Abell of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 65 years, Virginia Lee (Turley) Hunt, his parents, four brothers Maynard, John A, Tim, and Shorty Hunt, and one sister Dell Ramsey.
Funeral services are Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating assisted by Brother Rodney Paris, and Sister Lucy Tedrick. There will be a Masonic Funeral at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 16 or after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17 at Gilbert funeral Home.
