Doris E. McWorthy

Doris Elaine (Jane) Berry Henshaw McWorthy (87) born September 24, 1930 passed away January 14, 2018 at Crittenden County Rehabilitation Center in Marion, Kentucky. Born in Detroit Michigan but moved to Henshaw, Ky. 1938. Attended Sturgis High School and Western Teachers College (now Western Kentucky University). She was a member of Henshaw Cristian Church. She was married to John Bell (Bob) Henshaw Jr. from 1950 till 1966. She later married Morris McWorthy. She was U.S. Post Master in Henshaw for several years. She was a member of Eastern Star. She worked for Breckenridge Job Corp.in Morganfield, Ky, and later the Sturgis News. She also was employed as a civil servant from time to time in other states such as Hawaii on U.S. Army Posts.
Surviving are her children: two daughters, Nancy (Jimmy) Herran of Marion, Lorrie Voyias of Florida. Two sons: Mark (Cheri) Henshaw, John Willie (Karen) Henshaw. One brother: David Berry of Indianapolis. 8 Grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest (Nig) & Nellie Davis (Nell) Berry of Henshaw, owners of Berry’s Grocery, 1 brother: Donald (Skee) Berry: 1 son: Edward Allen Henshaw, 1 grandson: Colt Edward Herran.
She left Henshaw in 1987 and lived in Hawaii and Florida but returned to live in Marion, in 2007. She worked at the Clements Mineral Museum and Womens Auxillary in Marion.
Burial will be at the Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis, Kentucky. A graveside service will be planned for a later date. Memorials may be made to Crittenden County Rehabilitation Center in Marion, Kentucky.
