Donald L. Nelson, 78, of Marion, KY. died Wednesday at Crittenden County Hospital.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and member of Teamster Locals #554, #142 and #414 and a truck driver with Consolidated Freightways.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Linda Nelson of Marion; children, Johnny Nelson of Portage, IN, George Nelson of Chesterton, IN, Merel Nelson of Portage, IN, Missy Mills of Marion, KY, Faith Fitch of Cadiz, KY, Phillip Sitar of Marion, KY and Stephen Sitar of Marion, KY.; siblings, James Nelson of Lake Village, IN, Daniel Nelson of Indiana, Ted Nelson of Hobe Sound, FL, David Nelson of Missouri, Jenny Hayes of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kay Buchanan and Bonnie Wright of Griffith, IN and Gene Nelson of Wyoming; 23 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Harvey Nelson; grandson, Billy Nelson and 1 sister.
Services are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Gilbert Funeral Home with interment in Repton Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home. Military Rites will be given at the cemetery.
