Donald "Don" Hodge, 86, of Marion entered the gates of Heaven on October 24, 2016.
Don is survived by his 3 daughters Linda Hodge Henninger, Dannielle Hodge Talley (Wilson)
of Dallas Texas, Daniela Hodge- Tafoya and step-daughter Juana Tafoya de Ramirez (Sergio Luis) both of Aguascaliente Mexico. Seven Grandchildren, Donald Edward Henninger, David Stout (Laura), Jessica Orsburn (Craig), Jose Ramirez, Nalleli Ramirez, Sergio Luis Ramirez Jr. and Danna Michelle Hodge. Three Great Grandchildren Lawson Orsburn, Nolan Stout and Ella June Orsburn. Brother Vernon Hodge of Ocala, Florida, Sisters Jean Waterloo of Little Rock, Arkansas, Joan Garcia and Arlene Luster (Neil) both of Salem, Kentucky and Sister in law Barbara Hodge of Romeo, Michigan. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and long time friends.
Don is preceded in death by his Father Vernon Hodge, His mother Ruby Cruce Hodge, Son Jose Hodge-Tafoya, four Brothers Mylow Hodge, Ray Hodge, Hayden Hodge and Gerald Hodge and three Sisters, Erma Lee Hodge, Hazel Yates and June Hodge Sterling.
Don proudly served the United States Air Force and spent several years serving with the United States Forestry Service. Don spent approximately 10 years as a missionary in Mexico where he helped build churches throughout Mexico. Don was an avid collector of genealogy both family and local residents. He compiled several family history books which he published and made available to his family members. Don could not only recite his family history but the history of many local residents. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting friends and family in their homes or opening his home to them and discussing family and local history. He was a longtime member of the Crittenden County Genealogy Society and served on the board for the Crittenden County Museum. For the past few Years Don held a men's bible study in his home.
Don will be forever loved and greatly missed by his family and friends.
