Mr. David Alan Young

David Alan Young, 65, of Elizabethtown, IL., passed away at his residence, surrounded by family, on April 16, 2016. He was born in Gary, Indiana on April 3, 1951 to Jack Young and Lilly (Alley) Young. He was a retired laborer from U.S. Steel and a member of the Union Local 1066.
He is survived by his Wife: Carol Y. Young; Son: Larry and Rachel Thornton; Son: Steven and Irma Compos; Son: Nicky and Annie Compos; Daughter: Julissa Lopez Davis; 9 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: Jack and Lilly Young; and Grandson: Lawrence F. Thornton 3rd.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. As per his wishes, Mr. Young has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 19, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Tirey will officiate the memorial service at 7:30 P.M.
