It is with great sadness that the family of David Louis Hamp announces his passing, on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the age of 67 years.
He was born September 21, 1949 in Elizabethtown to Louis and Martha(Humm)Hamp. David served in the army and did a tour in Vietnam from 1969-1971. He married Kathy(Davis) June 25, 1971. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to garden and hunt. He also loved his St. Louis Cardinals and rarely missed watching a game. He was an active member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church and regularly attended mass.
David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years,
Kathy and his children, Missy(Clay) Lenzo, Joe Hamp, and Michael (Andrea) Hamp. David will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Logan, Connor and Chris, by his sisters, Jeanette (Gene) Stengel, Nina (Bill) Ferrell, Norma(Dempsey) Lievers and by his brother Robert(Brenda) Hamp as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Martha Hamp.
The visitation for David will be held on July 26, 2017 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church hall in Elizabethtown from 5-8 with the rosary at 7. The funeral service for David will be on July 27, 2017 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elizabethtown at 10am with Father Barrett officiating the service. Interment will follow at the St Joseph’s Catholic Church cemetery.
