Cora Lucille Stone Parkinson, Golconda IL, was born March 5, 1924 to Lawton and Lela Hoover Stone in Hardin County IL. She passed away November 23, 2013 at the Hardin County General Hospital with her family by her side.
Lucille had been a resident of the Rosiclare Rehabilitation and Health Care since March 2013 where she was an active member in the care center, joining in the games, church services and interacting with other residents.
On December 20, 1941 she married the love of her life Earl Allen Parkinson. She spent her life as a homemaker and enjoyed her memberships in Homemakers and Eastern Star which she was a lifetime member.
She is survived by a daughter Patricia (Don) Walker and two sons, Harold Gene (Rosie) Parkinson and Everett Earl (Linda) Parkinson and a special nephew Robert (Diane) Stone, seven loving grandchildren: Laurie, Denise, Amy, Michelle, Joe, Chad and Christy, thirteen great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren, sisters in law Lois Krize, Fairbanks AK, Evelene Stone, Marion IL, Bessie Stone, Rosiclare and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, two sisters Christine and Mary Evelyn and two brothers, Dale and Robert Stone, and son Kenneth Wayne Parkinson.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Lucille donated her body to Medical Science. A memorial service will be held for her at the Methodist Church in Rosiclare on Saturday, November 30, 2013 @ 2 PM. Cora was baptized at the church of Christ on November 3, 2013. Eastern Star rites will be at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Methodist Church building fund. Cora’s father helped build the Methodist church.
