Charles L. Hunt, Sr., 77, of Marion, KY died Monday at Crittenden County Hospital. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation, was a member of the United Auto Workers, Fraternal Order of Eagles, licensed electrician and plumber for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran from December 1, 1953 to November 30, 1955 and was a member of 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he served as a paratrooper with 17 successful jumps before becoming a radio operator and leiason specailist and earned a National Defense Service Medal.
Surviving are his daughters, Teresa (Patrick) Franklin of Newburgh, IN, Sharon (Marty) Asbridge of West Paducah, KY and Marla (Darryl) Hunt-Manning of Marion, KY; son, Tab (Joe Wisdom) Hunt of Swansea, IL; brothers, Orman Hunt, Harold (Bessie) Hunt and Malcolm (Geraldine) Hunt all of Marion, KY; grandchildren, Wren Riley, Jusin Asbridge, Shaun Riley, Alexandrea Hamann, Michaela and Makaela Franklin and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer Jackson Hunt and Erna Golda Martin Hunt and brother Denver Duane Hunt.
Services are scheduled for 1 PM Thursday at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY with interment in Mapleview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Military Rites will be given at the cemtery on Thursday.
