Ms. Charlene Pennell McDowell

Charlene Pennell McDowell, 79, of Elizabethtown, IL. passed away on July 19, 2014 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY. She was born on December 30, 1934 to William Victor Pennell and Lottie (Smith) Pennell in the Rock Creek community of Hardin County, Illinois. On January 31, 1953 she married the love of her life, Ewing Gary McDowell. She was a 40 + year member of the Hardin County Church of Christ.
She is survived by a Son: Ron and Cheryl McDowell of Elizabethtown, IL.; Son: Greg and Barbara McDowell of Cave In Rock; Son: Gary Don McDowell of Elizabethtown; Grandson: Chris and Katrina McDowell of Cave In Rock; Granddaughter: Angie and Eric Weatherly of Herod; Granddaughter: Laura and John Winters of Cave In Rock; Grandson: Nick and Melissa McDowell of Elizabethtown; Granddaughter: Annie and Kyle Blair of Rosiclare; Granddaughter: Kelsey McDowell of Raleigh, North Carolina; 11 Great Grandchildren; Many cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her Husband: Ewing Gary McDowell; Parents: William and Lottie Pennell; Brother: Randall Pennell.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Monday July 21, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Hardin County Church of Christ. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday July 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hardin County Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Hardin County General Hospital in her memory.
