Carolyn Gail Hodge, 76, of Clarksville, TN died at 6:50 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was born November 10, 1940 in Marion, KY to the late Claud Arflack and Ruby B. Arflack.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband LTC (USAF) Larry Gene Hodge; son, Larry Wayne Hodge, and her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Gail Hodge of Clarksville, TN; son David Lee (Desiree) Hodge of Hendersonville, TN; brothers Kenneth B. (Janice) Arflack of Madison, AL, Bruce (Elaine) Arflack of Benbrook, TX; Carl Wayne (Patty) Arflack of Franklin, TN; and six grandchildren (Mitchell, Megan, Travis, Zachary, Kyra, and Ashlyn) and two great-grandchildren (Emma and Weston).
Carolyn attended Tulo Grammar School and Crittenden County High School. She was a member of Tolu Methodist Church.
Family and friends were Carolyn’s love and delight. She grew up in a small town, but travelled the world as a devoted military wife. Throughout, her passion was spending time with family, cooking, and making a warm-loving home for all.
The family will receive visitors from 11am until 12:45pm Wednesday February 8, 2017 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY. Grave-side services are scheduled for 1pm at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville TN 37203.
